Our Governance Structure

Worawa Aboriginal College is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001. Worawa is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO), ensuring that Indigenous leadership is at the core of our governance. The primary mission of the College is to deliver a high-quality secondary education program specifically designed for young Aboriginal women.

Worawa is a not-for-profit organisation with accounts that are independently audited to ensure transparency and financial accountability. The Board of Directors, elected at the Annual General Meeting, serves a three-year term and is responsible for appointing the Executive Director, who also serves as a Board member and oversees the College’s day-to-day operations. The Board plays a crucial role in ensuring the College's financial stability and the consistent delivery of its educational programs, meeting quarterly to fulfil its governance responsibilities.
